Privacy Policy of AllDoc: Document Reader
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Bluewinddigitallimited - AllDoc: Document Reader ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We built this App to help you open and view documents stored on your device — including Word (.doc/.docx), PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx), PDF, Excel, and text files — all core operations happen locally on your device.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any personal contact information to use the core features of the App.
We do not transmit the contents of your documents anywhere. When you open a file, the App reads it locally on your device to render and display it to you — the document's content never leaves your device through the App.
2. Information Accessed On Your Device
To provide its core functionality, the App accesses the following on-device information. This information is processed locally and is not transmitted to us or to any third party, except where noted in Section 4 (Advertising & Analytics).
| Data | Why we access it |
|---|---|
| Document file contents (Word, PowerPoint, PDF, Excel, text, and other supported formats) | To read and render the document you open, so it can be displayed inside the App (for example, Word/PowerPoint files are converted to HTML and shown in an in-app viewer) |
| File metadata (name, size, path, type, date modified) | To list, sort, and let you locate documents stored on your device |
| File paths for documents you choose to open, rename, share, or delete | To carry out the action you request |
You are always in control. The App only opens, renames, shares, or deletes a file when you explicitly select it and confirm the action. The App does not modify the contents of your documents.
2a. Sample Documents (First Launch)
The first time you open the App, it may copy a small set of built-in sample documents (included with the App itself) into a folder on your device (Download/DocumentReader/), so you have example files to try the App's viewing features with even if you don't yet have documents of your own on your device. These sample files originate from the App, not from your personal data, and this copy happens once, entirely on-device.
3. Permissions We Request
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Storage access (All files access / Manage External Storage, Read/Write External Storage) | Required to find, open, and display documents stored on your device, and to copy the built-in sample documents on first launch (see Section 2a) |
| Internet | Required to display ads and, where applicable, send anonymous crash/analytics data (see Section 4), and to load certain viewer components (e.g. rendering PowerPoint files) |
| Vibrate | Used for minor UI feedback (e.g. confirmation of an action) |
You can review or revoke storage and other permissions at any time in your device's Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions. Revoking storage permissions will limit or disable the App's core features, including opening and viewing your documents.
4. Advertising & Analytics
The App is supported by advertising. We use the following third-party services to display ads and understand app performance:
- Google AdMob (and Google's ad mediation partners)
- Google Firebase (Analytics / Crashlytics)
These services may automatically collect certain information, which may include:
- Advertising identifier (e.g. Android Advertising ID / GAID)
- Device information (device model, OS version, language, general region)
- App usage and interaction data (e.g. screens viewed, crashes, session length)
- Approximate location derived from IP address (not precise GPS location)
This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy & Terms and, where applicable, the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services page.
Ad personalization choices: You can opt out of personalized advertising by:
- Opening your device's Settings > Google > Ads, and turning on "Opt out of Ads Personalization," or
- Using the in-app "non-personalized ads" option if presented in the App's consent screen (where required by your region, e.g. EEA/UK).
5. Data Retention
We do not operate servers that store your documents or their contents. Any data displayed or processed by the App (file lists, rendered document previews) is generated fresh each time you use the relevant feature and is kept only in the App's temporary memory while it is running, or written directly to the location on your device that you choose. Advertising/analytics data collected by third parties (Section 4) is retained according to those providers' own retention policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your document contents, file lists, or device contents with any third party. The only data shared with third parties is the advertising/analytics data described in Section 4, shared with Google as described above.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can take appropriate action.
8. Security
Because the App's core operations happen on your device rather than on our servers, your documents never leave your device through the App. We rely on your device's built-in Android security model (app sandboxing, permission system) to protect your data. No method of electronic storage or transmission (including by our third-party ad/analytics providers) is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding data collected by our third-party advertising and analytics providers, including the right to:
- Request access to information collected about you
- Request deletion of your advertising identifier's associated data (via your device's ad settings)
- Opt out of ad personalization (see Section 4)
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information directly, requests relating to advertising data should also be directed to the relevant identifier reset in your device settings, or to Google directly for data processed on their platforms.
10. Third-Party Links
The App may include options to open, share, or hand off a file to other installed apps on your device. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party apps.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
